The Breakdown

Here's a day-by-day guide to your itinerary. Feel free to ask us to add other days or ideas and excursions by adding them to your wishlist, so we can give you the best price.

Day 1

Set off from Warren, Rhode Island today and begin your cruise through Narragansett Bay while enjoying rugged cliffs, picture perfect lighthouses and gentle bays before arriving at the quiet island outpost of Cuttyhunk.

Day 2

Cuttyhunk to Nantucket

Today you will arrive at the charming island of Nantucket, a haven of traditional Cape Cod charm. Enjoy pristine beaches, old world fishing ports and elegant mansions. In the afternoon, stroll through the brick lined streets of Nantucket town and why not enjoy a stop at the Nantucket Whaling Museum. The cruise will carry you to Martha’s Vineyard in the evening.

Day 3

Nantucket to Marthas Vineyard

Martha’s Vineyard is a laid back summer getaway favoured by celebrities and presidents alike. Visit Edgartown, famous lighthouses, colourful cottages in Oak Bluffs and the striking Gay Head cliffs. In the afternoon an optional walking tour is available and after dinner musical entertainment is available onboard the ship.

Day 4

Marthas Vineyard to New Bedford

New Bedford is known as the “Whaling City” due to its prominence in Herman Melville’s classic 1851 novel Moby Dick. Learn about the city’s fascinating history during an optional walking tour beginning at the New Bedford Whaling National Historic Park. Another tour available is the opportunity to learn about oyster farm cultivating. Stroll the cobblestone streets, enjoy the galleries and shops or spend some time around the coast.

Day 5

New Bedford to Newport

This morning you will arrive in Newport, Rhode Island – arguably the most famous of New England’s islands. World class sailing, legendary jazz, gilded mansions and colonial history make Newport an excellent place to visit.  The spectacular Ocean Drive is the place to visit if you want to see large mansions that remind of an opulent past. Or enjoy a 2 hour sail aboard America’s Cup Charters, a beautifully restored 12 metre yacht.

Day 6

Newport to Block Island

Block Island has been named as one of the 12 great places in the Western Hemisphere and its easy to see why. This conservation conscious island offers beautiful beaches, excellent sailing and unimaginable tranquillity. One way to explore the island is an optional kayaking tour led by a Block Island native and is a great way to explore the natural landscape.

Day 7

Block Island to Warren

Today you will disembark back in Warren but only after passing through the scenic Prudence Island, a small regeneration project funded by the Captain Luther H. Blount foundation.
