Named for the song, the historic Chattanooga Choo Choo hotel is on the edge of downtown with free transport to the centre. Stay in one of the historic Pullman train cars for a real feel of the early 1900s. The hotel is built from the original station; check in is in the vast ticket hall and the very generous breakfast in the waiting rooms. There is also an indoor swimming pool.
The Glenn Miller gardens created to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the song make for a pleasant sitting area alongside the platforms.
The MacArthur building houses regular one- and two-bedded hotel rooms with free Wi-Fi, multiple USB ports and a flat screen TV. There are also some suites.
The Empress Building overlooks the outdoor pool; the rooms having either one king or two double beds.
The Pullman Train Cars
These are the most expensive rooms but come highly recommended both for their decoration and the sense of history they portray. They all have a queen size bed and some have a daybed with pull out trundle bed.
NB. There is no free parking downtown.
Why we like it
Who wouldn't want a night in an historic train carriage?
