First opened in 1889, the Geiser Grand Hotel has continued its tradition of providing luxurious hotel accommodation in their restored Victorian building. With ornate mahogany and crystal chandeliers in every room, along with their beautiful stained glass ceiling in the Palm Court restaurant, the hotel showcases the elegance of the late Victorian style throughout.
The Palm Court restaurant offers fine dining using the best of the regional ingredients, or there is the 1889 Cafe for a more relaxed bar atmosphere, with entertainment provided by local musicians.
The Geiser Grand Hotel also offers a special Eastern Oregon ranching experience with The Grand Ranch Experience is offered year-round in partnership with dozens of local ranchers. Guests discover what life is really like on a ranch through a variety of hand-picked activities, from wine tasting and bottle-feeding baby lambs to training dogs and branding calves. Rodeo - immerse yourself in ranching culture with bucking horses and bulls, single and team roping, and help local cowboys and cowgirls practice for rodeo competitions.
Buffalo - Get up close and personal with buffalos as you ride the feed wagon into the herds and gain a new appreciation for these majestic animals
Cattle Drives - Come along as cattle are moved to pasture, to new grass and home for the winter
All the rooms include free wireless broadband internet, a television with cable and DVD, individually controlled heat and air conditioning, private bathrooms and fourteen foot ceilings with crystal chandeliers.
Deluxe Room - A spacious room with silk damask and gilt mirrors, either a queen or king bed and seating area along with the other amenities above.
Grand Room - Approximately 650 square feet that is decorated with silk damask, antiques and gilt mirrors, and features two queen beds and a seating area. The 10-foot tall windows afford stunning views of the magnificent Eastern Oregon wilderness and the historic streetscape of Baker City.
Four Poster Suite - With a handcarved solid mahogany four poster frame and lace canopy, this room provides the dream bedroom for many. Complemented by a relaxing seating area and the five 10-foot tall windows looking out on the Eagle Cap Wilderness of the Wallowa Mountains and the Blue Mountains on the other side of the Baker valley.
Parlour Suite - This room features a bedroom with a king bed adjoining a living room that includes a sleeper sofa, lounge chairs and desk. Individually decorated with gilt mirrors, silk damask and antiques, and with 10-foot tall windows looking out onto the Baker City streetscape and mountains beyond.
Cupola Suite - With a huge main room including a living area and a king bed, and an octagonal dining/game room in the cupola, this room is decorated opulantly with gilt mirrors and antiques. The large windows also afford a 180 degree view of the Eastern Oregon wilderness beyond the streetscape of Baker City.
